When Facebook becomes aware that you\u2019ve passed away, your account will automatically become Memorialized, which changes your name to reflect that your page is \u201cremembering\u201d you, and no one can log in directly to your account. Your named legacy contact will be able to make certain changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Pin a tribute post to the profile<\/li><li>Change the profile photo and cover photo<\/li><li>Respond to new friend requests (they cannot remove friends)<\/li><li>Untag photos of you<\/li><li>Decide who can see and post tributes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>How do you designate a Facebook legacy contact? Visit<strong> Settings &amp; Privacy &gt; Settings &gt; Memorialization Settings &gt; (Choose your friend) &gt; Add &gt; Send (to notify them)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Getting Organized<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Not surprisingly, the best thing you can do is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freewill.com\/learn\/what-is-a-digital-executor\">designate a digital executor<\/a>, someone responsible for your online life when you\u2019re no longer there.
